Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states with leads still shifting in several constituencies. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leading, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all in leads. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179 seats, with 11 declared and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading, and candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats. In Puducherry, NDA has a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 seats already declared and 5 leading, putting the alliance past the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat assembly with a tally of 87, comprising 68 won and 19 leading, well past the majority mark of 71. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading, and candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats across the state.
