NDA, BJP, UDF lead as counting progresses across four states
Votes are being counted across Assam, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Kerala, with early leads shaping up across all four assemblies. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat house, NDA has won 28 seats and is leading in 69 more, giving it a tally of 97. The Congress-led combine is leading in 22 seats, while candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 7. In West Bengal, BJP leads the 294-seat contest with a tally of 179, having won 11 seats and leading in 168, well past the majority mark of 148 if those leads hold. TMC has a tally of 106, with 2 seats won and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in 8 seats in the state. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 seats and is leading in 5, putting its tally at 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 seats won and 3 leads. In Kerala, UDF tops the 140-seat count with 68 seats won and 19 leads, a tally of 87 against the majority mark of 71. LDF has won 30 seats and is leading in 6, for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
