Congress on Sunday (December 3) gained a thumping victory in Telangana after dethroning Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). The win in India's youngest state boosted much-needed spirit in Congress. The grand old party shattered KCR's dream of hitting a hat trick in the state, who has been in power since 2014.

The grand old party has crossed the majority mark, as per the trends from the ECI. It is leading on 64 seats in the 119-member Telangana Assembly. On the other hand, BRS is leading on 40 seats, BJP on 9, AIMIM on 5 and CPI on 1. The party successfully vanished the 'Modi magic' to emerge victorious. (PTI)
