Don’t worry about Punjab: AAP to UP CM Yogi Adityanath

UP CM Yogi Adityanath

CHANDIGARH: Responding to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath's statement on Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) advised him not to worry about Punjab and suggested he first focus on securing his own post.AAP stated that after the removal of Shivraj Singh in Madhya Pradesh and Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan from the post of chief minister, it was now his turn to leave the CM office. The party questioned why, if Adityanath had done such a good job in Uttar Pradesh, his position was in danger. “The people of UP are very angry with the Yogi government. That is why Rajput mahapanchayats are being held in UP, and people are boycotting the Bharatiya Janata Party in many places,” the party said. The party stated that if Adityanath was genuinely concerned about crime, why had he remained silent on rape convict and former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, and the allegations of sexual harassment made by Indian woman wrestlers against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.AAP also asked Adityanath to read the report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in which Punjab was in second place in the country for having the lowest crime rate. “On the contrary, cases of crime are reported in numbers in UP every day, but the Yogi government takes action on religious grounds instead of taking appropriate action on the matter,” the party said.
