Mumtaz Sorcar has just hopped on to Chennai Express!
Well, what we mean is, the actress has been roped in to play a professional boxer in a Tamil-Hindi bilingual starring R Madhavan. The film — to be directed by Sudha K Prasad — has been titled Irudhi Sutru in Tamil. Mumtaz was last seen in Bappaditya Bandopadhyay's Nayika Sangbad. Speaking about the project, producer S Sashikanth says, “Maddy, who plays a boxing coach in the film, has been toning up his physique in Los Angeles, for the past few months.

Besides Mumtaz, we have roped in another professional boxer, Ritika Singh, to play the other female lead."
He adds that the film will be a gritty human drama set in the world of boxing, but it will be vastly different from the Mary Kom biopic starring Priyanka Chopra.
The movie, to be shot in Chennai, is expected to go on the floors by August 11. Repeated calls to Mumtaz remained unanswered.
