Women empowerment

As we have seen in the trailer, the film focuses on breaking the myth that the word detective is always associated with men as if a woman can’t do the job. However, Mitin is here to show how a homemaker can solve mysteries also with a sharp mind and terrific observation skills. Koel’s look and body language is completely different from most of her mainstream movies.

Koel did all the stunts by herself

Director Arindam Sil once revealed Sunil Rodrigues, the fight master from Mumbai who has designed the sequences for ‘Mitin Mashi’, is happy to be working with Koel. “Sunil can’t stop praising Koel. She did all the stunts by herself in the film. We got a body double for her from Mumbai but she hasn’t played any part in the film. The actress, in fact, ended up controlling the crowd that would gather to catch a glimpse of Koel. Sunil maintains that Koel is extremely fit and can perform any stunt easily,” the director said.

Koel’s detective avatar

Mitin Mashi is all set for her big screen debut this Puja and it will be interesting to see whether the audience will accept Koel Mallick as a female sleuth. Based on Late novelist Suchitra Bhattacharya’s story ‘Hate Matro Tin Din’, the detective thriller is Arindam Sil’s latest offering.

The feminine traits of Mitin Mashi

There were certain feminine traits of Mitin Mashi that also attracted Koel. “Her first impression on me was like that of Durga. A woman who is highly intelligent, manages the house with the same efficiency, solves criminal cases – these traits left me spellbound,” said the actress, adding that she perceived Mitin Mashi as just any other Indian woman, who efficiently balances home and office.

6/6

A perfect example of today’s woman

Koel Mallick’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the trailer of Mitin Mashi got released as the feedback is incredible and people are waiting for the film. “Many have complemented us on the get up of Mitin Mashi too I feel the way Mitin Mashi is projected is a lot like us. What worked for the film is the fact that Mitin Mashi is today’s woman — who has a lot of power from within. She is a detective as well as a homemaker. Mitin is a perfect example of today’s woman, who can balance her work and family single-handedly. It feels awesome when your efforts get acknowledged,” added the pretty actress.
