Watch: First time as an antagonist, Bonny’s new look from ‘Doctor Bakshi’ revealed

Saptaswa Basu’s next ‘Doctor Bakshi’, a spin-off from his previous film ‘Pratidwandi’ will see Bonny Sengupta in a more serious role than ever.
This is the first time the popular actor is playing a negative role with grey shades. He will be seen as Aditya Sengupta, an ex-convict. On the occasion of Holi, the makers came up with the first look of Bonny from the film releasing a short video clip.

Apart from Bonny, ‘Doctor Bakshi’ sees Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Subhashree Ganguly in the lead. Saptaswa’s last film ‘Pratidwandi’ had Saswata Chatterjee playing the role of Dr. Bakshi. However, due to date issues, Saswata couldn’t do this film.
Dr.Bakshi’s fight against medical scams inspired and helped many. However, the path he chose didn’t look ethical. But when you are trying to expose a public servant in front of a larger audience can ethics help you? All answers are there in the latest installment.

“The character in ‘Pratidwandi’ represented a brand who serves justice in his own way exposing medical scams. This film is not a sequel. We would see Mrinalini (Subhashree) attending a Poila Baisakh event at a heritage hotel. Aditya (Bonny), Shraddha (Maahi) and few others are also there. However, during her first night while Mrinalini was covering the festival for her social media posts and vlogs, she gets involved in a murder mystery and soon finds her world crumbling down. Then comes Doctor Bakshi, a charming and intelligent doctor, who tries to unravel this mystery. Can Mrinalini find her way out of this maze? The answer lies in this medical thriller,” shared the director while speaking about his film’s engaging plot.
