This year's
Durga Puja is somewhat different than the usual ones feels
Sauraseni Maitra. But the pandemic can’t dampen her spirit one bit. Her Puja plans are already in place to make the most of the situation.
For Saptami, Sauraseni will be in Midnapur to attend her close friend’s barir pujo. “I wanted to see one of those bonedi barir puja for a long time. So, now I will make it happen,” she added.
But more than Saptami, Ashtami will be more special for her. It is kind of ritual for all her school friends to meet up for a special lunch on that day. “Due to the pandemic, all my friends are in Kolkata this year after years. I will not miss the lunch for anything in the world,” she said in an exclusive chat with ETimes.
But this year, Saurasini will neither go pandal hopping, nor have her favourite phuchka. Even last year, she was a part of a Puja Parikrama as a judge and visited most of the good Pujas in Kolkata. “I will certainly miss the pandal hopping. But at the same time, I am relieved that this year there is no Puja Parikrama due to the present crisis,” she said.
