A few months into their marriage, Jyoti accused Pawan of subjecting her to mental harassment. Allegations included claims that the actor pressured her into having an abortion and abetment to suicide. Jyoti further asserted that she faced not only physical torture but also coercive measures to compel her towards suicide. Reports indicate that she was administered medication during her pregnancy, resulting in a miscarriage. These distressing accusations shed light on a tumultuous period in the couple's relationship, emphasizing the serious nature of the allegations against Pawan.
