Brad Pitt didn't contact her daughter Zahara for graduation: 'Nothing prevented him from showing up for her'
The drama continues to brew in the Jolie-Pitt family, and there is no intention to cool off. Zahara, the daughter of the ex-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, recently took over the headlines after she dropped the actor’s surname from her name during her commencement program. While the 50-year-old actress attended the event along with her children, Brad Pitt was a no-show.
The estrangement between the ‘Fight Club’ actor and his children has always trembled along the Hollywood spectacles. According to TMZ, Pitt did not contact his daughter Zahara or visit her to celebrate her achievement. “Nothing prevented him from showing up for her. Or ever visiting her. The day was about all she accomplished. Not whether he was willing to attend,” the outlet reported, adding that Jollie and Zahara’s siblings have always championed her for the special four years. Moreover, Brad Pitt did not contact anyone to get a ticket for her graduation, which was conducted over the weekend.
Recently, Zahara earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College on May 17, 2026. Despite being listed as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt’ for the commencement program on the official website page of the college, she reportedly dropped the ‘Pitt’ part of her name. Previously, when she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in her college, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie in 2023.
Interestingly, Zahara is not the only Jolie-Pitt sibling who dropped their father’s surname from their official name. Shiloh had filed a petition to legally change her name, while Vivienne addressed her name as ‘Vivienne Jolie’ when she starred in the musical adaptation of ‘The Outsiders.’ Meanwhile, Maddox Jolie removed Pitt from his name publicly, while getting credits for working as an assistant director on his mother’s film, ‘Couture.'Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
