'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' becomes the highest-grossing film of 2022; overtakes Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman'

enjoyed a successful run at the box office. Now, Marvel's superhero flick has overtaken DC's

'The Batman'

as the highest-grossing film of the year 2022.


'Doctor Strange' has collected over $800 million worldwide while the lifetime earnings of the Robert Pattinson starrer is $769 million.

According to a report, the MCU film scored over $350 million in the US and $465 million overseas making the total collection $815 million approximately.


Helmed by Sam Raimi, 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' picks up after the events of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and sees Dr Strange open a rift in the multiverse while trying to help Tom Holland's Peter Parker. The film also features Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams.


On the other hand, 'The Batman', directed by Matt Reeves starred Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell. It was released in March this year.
