Natalie Cassidy on becoming a carer
The BBC reported that Cassidy, who had earlier built a career as an actor, is now training to become a professional carer to help as many people as she can. Her next show, ‘Natalie Cassidy: Caring Together,’ will chronicle her journey from the start, including how she obtained her licenses and everything that follows.
During her talk with the channel, the actress also weighed in that she wishes to shine a light on the crippling caring system in Britain, noting the financial pressures, lack of resources, and other things negatively affecting the industry and ecosystem.
She also added why she felt the need to train and become a carer, citing that “Caring for Dad right up until the end of his life, and losing him, was one of the most painful things I've ever had to do, but the people I met have changed my life and are so inspirational. That's what spurred me on to do this.” She further added that “I've only ever had one job, but I've always wondered what I would have done if I wasn't an actress.”

Cassidy’s father passed away in April 2021, after he had fallen ill. She shared during the interview that the family had all moved into an annexe home to ensure her father could be independent while also having help whenever he needed.
