'Fast and Furious' star Vin Diesel accused of sexual assault by former assistant

Hollywood actor Vin Diesel, the star of the hit film franchise, "Fast and Furious", has been slapped with a lawsuit by a former assistant accusing him of sexual battery during their working relationship in 2010.

In the legal documents, Astra Jonasson alleges that Diesel forced himself onto her in a hotel suite in Atlanta. The complaint details an incident where Jonasson, after being forced into Diesel's bed, attempted to escape the room. However, Diesel pursued her, allegedly groping her breasts and kissing her chest.

The lawsuit further claims that Diesel attempted to forcibly remove Jonasson's underwear, causing her to scream and run towards a nearby bathroom. Despite her attempts to resist, the actor allegedly compelled her to touch his erect penis and engaged in masturbation.


Jonasson, who was fired hours later by Diesel's sister Samantha Vincent, also the president of his production company, One Race Productions, expressed in the lawsuit that she felt like a "piece of trash" and that her self-esteem was "demolished."

The suit, as reported by AP, asserts that Jonasson believed her termination was a consequence of resisting Diesel's advances, stating, "It was clear to her that she was being fired because she was no longer useful — Vin Diesel had used her to fulfill his sexual desires, and she had resisted his sexual assaults."

Jonasson is pursuing legal action against Diesel and his company, citing claims of creating a hostile work environment, negligent supervision, and wrongful termination, among others.



As of now, representatives for Vin Diesel have not responded to requests for comments on the allegations.

In a statement, Claire-Lise Kutlay, Jonasson's attorney, emphasized that the lawsuit aims to hold Diesel and those allegedly involved in covering up the assault accountable for their actions. Kutlay added, "Employers must protect and defend people when they speak up about sexual assault and harassment. We hope Ms. Jonasson’s courageous decision to come forward helps create lasting change and empowers other survivors."

Vin Diesel has portrayed Dominic Toretto in the "Fast and Furious" franchise since its inception in 2001. The movies have consistently performed well at the box office, with the last two films each grossing over $1 billion. The most recent instalment, "Fast X," featuring Diesel, opened earlier this year with $67.5 million in ticket sales.
