Harvey Weinstein reacts to ex-wife Georgina Chapman’s relationship with Adrien Brody: ‘I was happy’

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood producer now serving time for sex crimes, has finally spoken up about his ex-wife Georgina Chapman’s relationship with actor Adrien Brody. From his cell at Rikers Island, Weinstein revealed that he’s actually “happy” Chapman found love again.

For the unversed, Weinstein’s comments are not just in the light of his own history, but also because Chapman had to completely rebuild her life after their marriage ended in the middle of the scandal that helped spark the global #MeToo movement.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter from Rikers Island prison, Weinstein opened up about his feelings regarding his ex-wife’s new life. When asked about Brody’s Oscar acceptance speech in 2025, where Brody thanked Chapman and her children for welcoming him, Weinstein didn’t seem upset at all. “No! I was happy,” he said. “It’s good that my kids have someone in their lives.” He admitted Chapman “suffered terribly” because of him and said he’s glad she’s finally found some happiness. Even though he and Chapman don’t talk anymore, she does let him see their kids.

Per People, Weinstein also sounded regretful about how his actions hurt Chapman, who’s a fashion designer. He remembered how, after the allegations came out, many of the women Chapman dressed for big events stopped working with her almost overnight. “I am sorry she got such a bad rap. She knew nothing about what I was doing. I was a master of deception,” he said. “To punish her company is an act of insanity.”

For the unversed, Weinstein and Chapman tied the knot in Connecticut back in December 2007. For a while, they really were one of Hollywood’s most talked-about power couples. Per People, Chapman, who co-founded the luxury fashion label Marchesa, almost always showed up with Weinstein at big premieres, award shows, and red-carpet events. They had two kids together: their daughter, India, and their son, Dashiell.

On the surface, their marriage looked solid for years. But behind closed doors, per People, rumors about Weinstein’s treatment of women in the film industry started to swirl. Then, in October 2017, everything blew wide open. Investigative journalists published reports exposing a long history of Weinstein sexually harassing, assaulting, and even raping women: allegations that went back decades. After that, more than 80 women came forward with their own stories, including actresses, assistants, and others who’d worked with him.

Chapman announced almost immediately that she was leaving Weinstein. Their divorce process kicked off soon after and wrapped up in July 2021.

Georgian Chapman and Adrian Brody: A new chapter

As for Chapman and Brody, per People, rumors about them started flying in 2019, and by 2020, it was official that they were dating. Chapman, who co-founded the fashion label Marchesa, mostly stayed out of the spotlight at first, just focusing on her kids and trying to put her life back together. But over the next few years, she and Brody started showing up at events together. Brody, who’s best known for ‘The Pianist’, has always spoken highly of Chapman, calling her resilient and creative.

When Brody won Best Actor for The Brutalist in 2025, he got emotional on stage, saying, “I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values.” He added, “And her beautiful children, Dash and India, I know this has been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Popsy’s coming home a winner!”
