Indian movie market is huge even for H'wood movies: Scott Speer

Scott Speer, an American music video director from San Diego, won his first video Music Awards Latin America in México in 2007, for his work with Bella Traicion by Mexican pop sensation Belinda.
Scott talks about his celluloid journey in an email interview.
Looking back at your creative journey, how do you feel about the progression from music videos to directing movies?
I have a feeling of achievement; I am doing something I always wanted to do.I started as a music video director and now a full movie on dance. My determination towards making better movies is even stronger.
How easy/difficult has been your cinematic journey? Does it define you as an individual?
I have been a music person through and through. At 23, I was signed and since then I had no looking back. The industry has welcomed me with its arms wide and the journey till date has been lovely with all the ups and downs.
Bollywood films are famous for their songs and dance moves, so do you think in that way India is a natural destination for the release of Hollywood movies involving song and dance?
Yes, the Indian movie market is huge and especially for Hollywood movies like this one, I think India is the best destination to release where the movies already have the trend of dance and music.
Flash mobs are gaining popularity in Indian cities in recent times. How do you see this trend?
Step Up Revolution, is about street dance and the flash mob. Flash Mobs are gaining popularity every where and this popularity was my inspiration.
Do you think that dance can be used as a therapy to do with individual emotional and social issues?
Yes. I believe dance and music is the best way of bringing out once emotions. Dance can depict anything; it could be social issues, political issues or personal issues.
What’s in the pipeline?
It has been a lot of hard work and therefore I plan to relax for a while now, travel, go on a holiday.
Have you watched Hindi films? Any favourite Indian actor who can dance well?
I did get a chance to watch Kites and Dhoom and loved Hrithik Roshan in it.
