'Jurassic World Rebirth' title unveiled; Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali first-look photos out

The highly anticipated seventh instalment of the 'Jurassic Park' franchise has been officially titled 'Jurassic World Rebirth'.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, continuing the 31-year legacy of the beloved dinosaur saga. The film's official page, on Thursday, unveiled the title poster and two new stills from the film with the caption, "A new era is born."



'Jurassic World Rebirth' will reportedly be set five years after the events of 'Jurassic World Dominion', in a world where Earth's ecology has become largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The surviving dinosaurs now exist only in isolated equatorial environments, where the climate mirrors the conditions of their prehistoric era. The film's plot revolves around three colossal dinosaurs that hold the key to a groundbreaking drug with life-saving potential for humanity.



In the film, Johansson plays the role of Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert tasked with leading a mission to extract DNA from the remaining giant dinosaur species. Ali stars as her partner, Duncan Kincaid, while Bailey takes on the role of Dr Henry Loomis, a palaeontologist. Rupert Friend joins the cast as Martin Krebs, a representative of the pharmaceutical conglomerate funding the expedition.



Additional cast members include Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein, who make up the rest of Zora's team.

'Jurassic World Rebirth' is scheduled to hit theatres on July 2, 2025.
