A live-action adaptation of the beloved manga classic ‘Naruto has been announced.
Destin Daniel Cretton, known for ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,’ is set to write and direct the film. The banner behind the adaptation has confirmed the deal, expressing excitement about bringing the iconic manga to the big screen.
Based on Masashi Kishimoto's manga, ‘Naruto’ follows the journey of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja aspiring to become the village ninja and protector.
The announcement comes after Cretton met with Kishimoto in Tokyo, with the latter endorsing Cretton as the perfect director for the project.

Kishimoto shared his enthusiasm, stating he found Destin as an open-minded director. With him on board, Kishimoto feels the live-action adaptation will be spectacular action and profound drama. Adam Fogelson praised Cretton's vision for the movie, anticipating it would resonate with the global audience. James Myers and Jon Humphrey from Lionsgate will oversee the project.
Cretton also expressed his honor in working on the project and conveyed his excitement to collaborate with Kishimoto.
