‘Perfect Strangers’ star Bronson Pinchot Opens Up About Childhood Abuse By His Father: “He was incredibly abusive…”

Bronson Pinchot, the ‘Perfect Strangers’ star recently opened up about his tragic childhood days, when he faced violence and abuse from his absentee father. Reeling from his experience, Pinchot revealed he did not receive warmth for even a ‘nanosecond,’ and faced bullying as a child that continued to his college.In an interview with Page Six, the ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ star expressed, “He was incredibly abusive,” while talking about his father. “I never got one nanosecond of warmth from him or tenderness or parental anything — and that’s when he was in a good mood. When he was in a bad mood, we would have to run away, and the police would have to come and get him,” Bronson continued.Furthermore, in his school, Pinchot was unfortunately bullied for being poor and overweight. Everybody including teachers and crossing guards would call him ‘fat pig,’ while pointing out the holes in his clothes. “Everybody could tell you that you were not like them and therefore not wanted,” he recalled. In college, Bronson experienced the same treatment even though he ‘disassociated’ as a teen. Remembering his father, ‘The Residence’ star stated, “I never knew him except as a person who beat my mother and broke the windows and kicked the Christmas presents and hurt people.” Eventually, his father left him and did not see him until his mid-20s - which was not a pleasant experience. The deep-situated trauma had him feel depressed during his incredibly successful show. While Bronson knew that he needed therapy but felt scared to accept it, so his mental health deteriorated. During his time in ‘Perfect Strangers,’ Pinchot attempted to stay incredibly grounded, however failed. “How can you keep your feet on the ground when you have withdrawals, when you don’t even know who you are and you’re hoping Bronson comes back?” Pinchot revealed.Later, he realized that many families loved the show, and he needed to have a good reputation, and he never misused drugs or alcohol. “Now, if something hurts me or somebody breaks my heart or something is disappointing or tragic, I know there is a way out and that it changes,” Bronson Pinchot concluded.
