Why Pink and her family left Hollywood for New York City: ‘Cause I am an amazing mom’
Pink is shaking things up again, and this time, she’s traded the palm trees of Hollywood for the Big Apple. Yes, this new year, she is embracing the bright lights of New York City. Pink and her family just packed up and moved east, saying goodbye to Southern California and hello to a whole new chapter.
So, what’s behind this big move?

So why New York? Let’s just say Pink’s raising a toast to the city for a reason. She, her husband Carey Hart (they’ve been married 20 years), and their kids Willow, 14, and Jameson, 9, are all in on this new adventure. The main driver behind this decision to change Zip Codes? It’s family, as usual. Pink explained during her stint as guest host on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ that the real reason for the move was her daughter’s dreams, and her own commitment to being the kind of mom who shows up and makes things happen.
“We actually moved here because I am an amazing mom,” Pink joked on air, flashing that signature mix of sarcasm and heart. But she meant it. Willow, who is just 14 now, is passionate about theater and Broadway, and New York is really the only place to dive into that world. Pink wanted her daughter to have the chance to study and perform where the action is.
During the show, Pink and Willow even performed together, covering ‘Hopeless War’ from The Outsiders musical. It indeed was a sweet moment to witness: just a mom and her kid, sharing the stage, soaking up the energy of the Big Apple.
Another bonus: living in New York made it easy for Pink to guest host ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ while Kelly preps for the end of her seven-season run. However, Pink wanted to set the record straight that she’s not taking over the show, no matter what the rumors say. In a now-deleted Instagram video, she laughed off the gossip: “I’m not taking over The Kelly Clarkson Show.” She made it clear she was just helping out a friend, not looking to add “talk show host” to her already packed resume.
“If I wanted a talk show, I would just have one,” Pink quipped. “And it would be amazing.”
As for her family life, despite all the speculation (and some recent rumors about her marriage with Carey being in trouble, which she has shot down, per E! News), Pink sounded excited for this new chapter in New York.
“I’ve played stadiums and danced on the side of buildings, but stepping in to guest host for my girl Kelly Clarkson is a brand new feat!” she said back in February. “Let’s celebrate women, joy, resilience, and whatever else comes our way!”Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”

What’s behind Pink’s address change?
Even at 46, Pink (real name, Alecia Beth Moore) isn’t the one to follow the crowd. This latest decision just proves it. She’s always put family and creativity front and center, and moving to New York is really about both. Pink: All about the popstar
Born Alecia Beth Moore in Pennsylvania back in 1979, Pink burst onto the scene in the late ‘90s with her debut album, ‘Can’t Take Me Home’. From day one, her voice and attitude stood out. She’s always mixed genres (think pop, rock, a little R&B) and brought a fearless energy to everything she does. Her early 2000s hits like ‘Get the Party Started’, ‘Just Like a Pill’, and ‘So What’ pretty much defined an era. Millions of albums sold, three Grammys, and somehow she’s managed to stay relevant while staying authentic to herself. As for her family life, despite all the speculation (and some recent rumors about her marriage with Carey being in trouble, which she has shot down, per E!
