There was beer and there were men. But they werent merely there to put away a few pints. For this was a beer evening with a difference. Karen Anand invited six men, all amateur cooks, to flaunt their culinary skills at a fun evening Saturday night and we must say the guys rose to the challenge admirably. Those who donned the aprons and got down to work were Vijay Kirloskar, Danish trade commissioner Sune Kjelden who came with his own cheergals Ravi Naware, Rajesh Reddy, who also had many female fans, Raj Shroff and Waseem Khan.
It was Waseem, with his pepper-crusted salmon with asparagus and cream sauce it was spiked with beer who walked away with the top prize. Vijays chicken curry and Ravis stirfry also ranked among the top three. Among those who came to watch the men cook with passion and taste their offerings were Harathi Rebello, Harish Bijoor, Leena Singh before heading off for dinner elsewhere Stanley Pinto, Manjusha and Vikram and Sheela and Krish, who also went off to an evening of jazz afterwards.
