Marathi festival celebrated with much gusto in Hyderabad

The past weekend for the Maharashtrian community in the city was all about food, music and masti as they had a two-day festival celebrating Marathi culture and traditions.

Dressed in nauvari sarees and orange phetas, hundreds of Maharashtrians thronged Shilparamam as the venue came alive with the peppy beats of the Dhol-Tasha and the stunning performance of Mallakhamba, a traditional acrobatic performance by kids, which left the audience awestruck. The evening kick started with a Ganesh Vandana by Aboli Deshpande which was followed by a dance performance on popular Marathi patriotic songs by Srushti Chalkapurkar and Pranjali Khandekar.
