Go exotic this perhaps best sums up the mood at a boating complex in the city on New Years Eve. What with the entire area having been turned into an Egyptian paradise of sorts, revellers who came in looking to welcome 2009 in style couldnt really have asked for more. While the major part of the 2,800-plus crowd made most of the huge dancefloor, grooving to the beats of DJ Dev from Mumbai, who churned out a mix of Bolly and house remixes from his pyramid-shaped console, a few were seen hanging under the little red and white tents set up all across the complex.
Of course, they had cocktails and hookahs for company right up to the wee hours of the morning. However, those looking for a quick bite were in for a slight disappointment as curiously enough, there were no snacks to munch on. But that was hardly any dampener to the high-spirited crowd who was in the mood to rock on together. Thats perhaps why the crowd turned down in unison the DJs suggestion to couples of moving into the exclusive ballroom. Now, thats what we call coming together to welcome the New Year with open arms.
