Javed Akhtar at painting exhibition

Javed Akhtar, B-wood personality and Lucknowphile, made the most of his recent trip to the city.
In between attending a children’s film festival being organised by a school chain in Lucknow, to hanging out with his childhood friends, Jaadu (as he is fondly known) found time to inaugurate a painting exhibition by Mrinanlini, his friend Alok Mitra’s daughter.
The do saw many known faces from the city coming under one roof, not only to congratulate this young artist, but to also interact with Javed sa’ab.Mingling with the crowd and chatting with all, he also cast a keen eye over the Mrinanlini’s colourful efforts on canvas. Few from the crowd made a farmayish for Javed sa’ab to recite a few lines from his collection of poems. But he smilingly skipped the requests, saying, “Bhai aaj ka din to inka hai, hum to bas mehmaan hain.”
Ravi Kapoor captures these filmi moments in his camera while Prof Rakesh Chandra entered in his trademark style...with a big smile on his face and yes, his bada kaala chashma.
