Gujarat cinema has some impressive actors who keep entertaining fans all year round. Interestingly, some of the top stars have been acting aces in theatre and have made a smooth transition to films and earned some big bucks in Dhollywood. From Malhar Thakar to Pratik Gandhi – here’s taking a look at five talented actors who rose to fame from stage to the silverscreen.

​Malhar Thakar

For nine years Malhar Thakar worked as a stage artist and earned fame. He marked his debut in Dhollywood with Krishnadev Yagnik's 'Chello Divas' , which was a blockbuster hit at box-office. Malhar;s character of 'Vickido' was loved by the audience and till date, fans shower him with love. Over the years the actor has given many hits but his best actor remains 'Chhello Divas'. In the coming days post lockdown, Malhar has several projects lined up for release.

​Chetan Dhanani

Chetan Dhanani is best known for his act in the mystery crime-drama 'Dvandva'. He marked his debut as a writer and assistant director with Rahul Bhole and Vinit Kanojia`s 'Chor Bani Thangaat Kare'. The versatile theatre artist Chetan went on to screen space in a show with Bollywood’s popular celebs Paresh Rawal and Mrinmayee Godbole. The actor also enjoys massive popularity in the Marathi film industry. Not only this, but Chetan was also a part of National award winning film 'Reva'.

​Pratik Gandhi

Handsome hunk of Dhollywood Pratik started off with theatre before becoming a successful actor in the industry. The 'Dhunki' actor enjoys humongous fan following and is praised for his versatility. Pratik has proved his acting prowess in films like 'Love Ni Bhavai', 'Wrong Side Raju' and 'Luv Ni Love Story's' to name a few. Up next, Pratik will be seen in 'Kahani Rubber Band Ki’ which is directed by Sarika Sanjot.

​Mitra Gadhvi

Mitra Gadhvi is known for his comedy acts and he was a theatre artist for 10 years. Gadhvi has given hits like 'Chhello Divas', 'Shu Thayu?', 'Bas Ek Chance' and many others. Recently he delivered a popular performance in 'Affra Taffri'. The actor will soon be announcing his next project, once the lockdown ends. Apart from this, during the ongoing phase of the lockdown, the actor is keeping fans entertained by posting fun videos on Instagram.

​Hemang Dave

Hemang’s comedy tickles the funny bone and is very popular for his comedy acts in Gujarati and Hindi films. The actor initially started his career as a theatre artist and despite making it big in films, Hemang is still doing theatre shows along with movies. This 'Bey Yaar' actor is a perfect package of entertainment and he has the talent to grab the audience's attention with his funny jokes and acting.
