‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ box office collection Day 4: Kapil Sharma starrer sees earnings fall below Rs 1 crore on Monday, amid ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ reign

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’, directed by Anukalp Goswami and led by Kapil Sharma, witnessed a steep drop in collections on its first Monday at the box office. According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, the comedy sequel earned around Rs 90 lakh in India net on Day 4, slipping below the Rs 1 crore mark. While weekday declines are expected, trade observers note that the fall is significant for a film that has struggled to build strong momentum since its release.

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ box office collection Day 4

The film opened with Rs 1.85 crore on Day 1, followed by a marginal rise to Rs 2.5 crore on Saturday. It recorded its best single-day performance on Sunday with approximately Rs 2.9 crore. With an opening weekend total of around Rs 7.20 crore and Monday’s collections added, the film’s estimated India net total now stands at Rs 8.1 crore.




As per the report, the film's gross total collection stands at an impressive Rs 9.75 crore while the worldwide total gross collection now stands at an impressive Rs 10.35 crore.

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ occupancy

Occupancy figures on Monday reflected waning audience interest. The film registered an overall 17.49% Hindi occupancy, with morning shows starting at 6.42%. Afternoon shows saw occupancy rise to 16.56%, while evening shows clocked 18.61%. Night shows performed relatively better, settling at 28.36%.

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ vs ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ and ‘Mowgli’

Despite the subdued numbers, the film’s Monday performance is broadly in line with other underperforming titles currently in theatres. ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, now in its third week, earned around Rs 55 lakh on Monday, while the first-week release ‘Mowgli’ managed approximately Rs 35 lakh.

‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ box office takeover

Trade analysts attribute much of ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’s’ struggle to the overwhelming box office dominance of ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’. Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to rule the Hindi market, earning an estimated Rs 29 crore on its second Monday. The Aditya Dhar directorial has now amassed Rs 379.75 crore India net, with its gross total crossing Rs 455.5 crore and a worldwide tally estimated at Rs 579.25 crore.

Meanwhile, Balakrishna Nandamuri’s ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ remains a force in the southern markets, adding an estimated Rs 5.4 crore net on Monday. The film has collected approximately Rs 64.5 crore from the Telugu net box office and Rs 1.4 crore from the Tamil net box office, taking its total gross to Rs 78.75 crore and worldwide collections to Rs 89.35 crore.

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ becomes Kapil Sharma's third highest earning film

The sustained dominance of both films has significantly curtailed the business of newer releases, including ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’. However, despite its muted run, the sequel has already emerged as Sharma’s third highest-grossing film. It is now only a few crore short of overtaking ‘Firangi’ to claim the second spot, while ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ continues to remain the actor’s biggest hit with a lifetime collection of Rs 49.98 crore.

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ to battle 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'

The film will have just a few days to rake in the big bucks, before the wide release of the Hollywood epic 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'. The James Cameron directorial, which has a huge fan-following in India, is set to arrive in theatres on Friday, December 19. While the third instalment in the 'Avatar' franchise is expected to dominate the box office this weekend, the Christmas week will bring in more competition at the box office, with the release of the Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri'.

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ also stars Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhury, Ayesha Khan, Parul Gulati, Hira Warina and Asrani in key roles.
