After Nana Patekar and Akshay Kumar large-heartedly supporting and adopting many drought-affected villages of Maharashtra, Aamir Khan too has joined the bandwagon and has adopted two villages that have been badly hit by drought.

As per a report on Times Now, Aamir Khan recently visited drought affected regions of the state and came across two of the most adversely affected villages,

Tal

and

Koregaon

and decided to adopt, support and uplift them.

For those not in the know, Aamir had adopted villages of Kutch in Gujarat after the state saw the worst earthquake ever in 2001. The superstar had also recently visited

Beed

from

Aurangabad

, one of the three worst affected districts in Maharashtra as part of a water conservation awareness campaign where the actor, applauding Maharashtra government's Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan, had said, "Arresting rain water and conserving every drop are the only options to fight droughts and drought-like situations in the long run."

"The water issue in Maharashtra is worsening every passing day. To tackle this problem permanently, we have to give preference to the success of Jal Yukta Shivar and similar projects," Aamir had then said while addressing a programme organized by Pani Foundation, an NGO and asserted that people should join hands and ensure success of programmes such as the Jalyukt Shivar launched by the Maharashtra government.
