Looking back at the journey of ‘Mirzapur’, one of the most memorable aspects remains the bond between Munna and Compounder, both on screen and off it. 'Stree' actor
Abhishek Banerjee, who brought Compounder to life recently opened up about how much of that chemistry was rooted in real life, making it feel even more authentic to audiences revisiting the series today.

Divyenndu played a key role in shaping their on-screen dynamic. In a conversation Mid-Day, “Divyenndu and I have been good friends since college. I played his friend like in real life, with the only difference that this friend can kill.” That natural camaraderie is what made their scenes in ‘Mirzapur’ stand out.
Abhishek Banerjee on returning for ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’
As conversation around ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ picked up, Banerjee confirmed that both characters would return, though he chose not to reveal much. Reflecting on their bond, he noted, “Their friendship and sacrifices are back… we ate and drank together, and bullied each other on set [for fun].” The nostalgia around their equation continues to excite fans.
