Bollywood actor
Shahid Kapoor turned nostalgic at an event held during the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, revisiting the very spot he faced the camera for the first time, nearly three decades ago.
Standing at the historic Asiatic Library Steps, Shahid shared an emotional memory that connected his present moment to his teenage beginnings. “It is a very funny feeling right now,” Shahid said. “Main abhi jahan pe khada hoon, exactly here, in 1996, around 30 years ago, maine ek advertisement kiya tha. That was meri zindagi ka sabse pehla ad, which had Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol. I was 15 years old at that time.”

Recalling the shoot vividly, he added, “It was an ad for an aerated drink. There was a bus right here, aur bus ke upar Shah Rukh sir theey, Kajol ma’am thee, Rani was there, and the 15-year-old me; hum bus ke upar dance kar rahe theey. Exactly yahin pe, right against this visual of the Asiatic Society, maine apni zindagi ka pehla shot diya tha. I was in front of the camera for the first time ever!”
Calling the moment surreal, he said, “It is so crazy being here again after 30 years. Today people want to see me, are interested in me, tab koi bhi mujhme interested nahi tha! So, it’s so nice to be here, such a privilege to be here during this prestigious festival.”
