Businessman and former Tata Sons Chairman, Cyrus Mistry lost his life in an unfortunate car accident yesterday. And it's been a reminder to the fact that, road accidents are a dangerous part of everyday commute. Bollywood stars usually travel in luxury cars, too, which are known to be safer than most cars. But even then, the risk to life in a car accident is very real. We recall a list of Bollywood actors who were fortunate enough to walk away from deadly car crashes. While some survived unscathed others survived after a long road of recovery. Here's your favourite stars who survived crash and burn.

Back in 2014, when Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt were in Ahmedabad to promote their film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', an unfortunate accident took place when a police car rammed into their stationary vehicle at a signal. Reportedly, the crash was so intense that the rear shield of Varun-Alia's car got shattered. The actors were lucky to escape the crash unhurt.

Following the news of Cyrus Mistry's unfortunate demise, director Hansal Mehta shared details of his tryst with misfortune on social media. The filmmaker shared, "Nearly 30 years ago, I was a boy in my early 20s. I had a near-fatal accident in Fiji Islands. My car went off the road and dropped from a high. The car was finished. I was speeding. I was wearing a seat belt. I escaped an accident that would have surely ended my life."

Hema Malini is an actor turned politician and her career as an MP has her travelling the width and length of the country quite often. A few years ago, while she was travelling from Karauli to Jaipur in Rajasthan, her car met with an accident. Hema escaped the crash with head injuries while her car sustained the majority of the damage.

Shabana Azmi had the fright of her life in 2020, when her car was hit by a speeding truck on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. Such was the intensity of the accident that Shabana was severely injured and she was taken to MGM Hospital. Thankfully, she made a full recovery.

At the height of her popularity, Anu Agarwal, who had become a household name thanks to 'Aashiqui' in 1990, suffered a major setback. She met with a dangerous car accident on the Mumbai-Pune highway and such was the intensity of the crash that Anu was left struggling for life. During her recovery in the hospital the actress was in a long coma that resulted in loss of her memory. Thankfully, she made a full recovery after many years.

Actor and comedian Sunil Grover had a serious scare a few years ago when his car crashed into a hatchback on the Mumbai-Belapur highway. It was reported that Sunil's car lost control after his car's tyre burst all of a sudden. The actor was lucky to have walked away from the crash unhurt.
