Alia Bhatt to Kangana Ranaut and Kiara Advani – Meet the Bollywood actress who will rule 2020 with maximum releases

Bollywood actresses are pushing the boundaries and 2019 saw some amazing performances doled out by Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Bhumi Pednekar and Taapse Pannu to name a few. And 2020 will be all the more promising as actresses will entertain all year round with multiple releases and innovative narratives. From Alia Bhatt having as many as four films in 2020 to Kangana Ranaut packing three action-dramas for next year – here’s taking a look at all the actresses who will rule theatres and the box office in 2020.

Alia Bhatt is currently the most sought after actress in Bollywood and has four biggies lined up for release in 2020, all of which boast of unique narratives. Alia will join forces with beau Ranbir Kapoor for superhero drama ‘Brahmastra’ which will release during Summer 2020. Up next, Alia will be seen in South biggie ‘RRR’, playing a pivotal role. She is also playing the lead in daddy Mahesh Bhatt’s next directorial ‘Sadak 2’ wherein she romances Aditya Roy Kapur. And finally, Alia will be seen in the much awaited, Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Releasing on September 11, this film will feature Alia in the role of a brothel madam and will reportedly romance Ajay Devgn.

Kangana Ranaut’s 2020 slate is full of action and drama. ‘Panga’, featuring Kangana in the role of a retired Kabaddi player who wants to make a comeback, will bank on the Republic Day weekend as it releases on January 24. Come June 26 and Kangana will be seen playing late Jayalalitha on the silver screen in the politician’s biopic titled ‘Thalaivi’. And the year will finally end on an action-packed note for the actress as ‘Dhaakad’ will hit the screens in October. The action entertainer will feature Kangana in a fierce avatar, pulling some serious action stunts.

Kiara Advani has a promising 2020 with four releases in her kitty. The actress will first rub shoulders with Akshay Kumar in horror drama ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ which will hit the screens during Eid 2020. Up next, the actress will be seen shouldering the solo lead responsibility in ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’. The romantic comedy is about Kiara’s character who is determined to find true love using an online dating app. Kiara has a second horror comedy lined up for 2020, i.e. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ which will hit the screens on July 31 and finally the actress has ‘Shershaah' with rumoured boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra. The biopic is slated for release in 2020, but its final date has not been announced yet.

Bhumi Pednekar doled out a lot of entertainment in 2019 and she is making sure to continue with her winning streak in 2020 as well. In February, the actress will entertain alongside Vicky Kaushal in ‘BHOOT: Part One – The Haunted Ship’. Bhumi has also shot with Ayushmann Khurrana for ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ which will release in February. The actress also has an important part to play in Karan Johar directed ‘Takht’ and will also be seen playing the lead in Akshay Kumar presented ‘Durgavati’. Both these films are reportedly slated for release in 2020.

Janhvi Kapoor is off to a flying start in 2020, quite literally as she will be seen playing an Indian Air Force pilot in ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’. The film will hit the screens on March 13. After this, Janhvi will be seen romancing Rajkummar Rao in ‘RoohiAfza’, the horror-comedy is slated for release on April 17. The actress is also playing the lead in ‘Dostana 2’ alongside Kartik Aaryan and Lakshya. Janhvi has also been cast in a pivotal role in multi-starrer ‘Takht’ which is slated to hit the screens in December 2020.
