Animal: Sandeep Reddy Vanga dismisses criticism, claims only '15-20 jokers' view Ranvijay and Kabir Singh as misogynistic

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of "Animal," recently defended his film characters, including Ranvijay Singh, Kabir Singh, and Arjun Reddy, against accusations of misogyny.


In an interview with Galatta Plus, Vanga expressed his disagreement with the criticism, stating, "I don't know why these 15-20 jokers do." The director, known for his previous films like "Arjun Reddy" and "Kabir Singh," addressed the ongoing debate about the portrayal of extreme violence and misogyny in his latest work, "Animal," starring Ranbir Kapoor.



When questioned about Ranvijay Singh being perceived as a misogynistic character, Vanga responded that misogyny is disrespect to women. This is the actual definition, right. So no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even him as a person are not like that. He emphasized that he believes his production house, Bhadrakali Pictures, promotes respectful content.


Vanga expressed frustration with the way films are analyzed and criticized in the present era, describing the level of scrutiny as "too toxic." He also questioned the interviewer about their perspective on the alleged misogyny in his characters.
