Babil Khan undergoes rigorous Muay Thai training ahead of action drama film, shooting to begin in May - Reports
Babil Khan is preparing for an upcoming action drama produced by a major studio. The actor has been undergoing intense Muay Thai training in Thailand, dedicating six days a week. In December, he shared a few clips from his training sessions in Thailand, fueling speculation that he’s getting ready for an action-packed project.
According to Mid-day, the shoot is expected to kick off in May. That gives Khan months to physically train for the movie. Babil has been training six days a week. His regimen includes pad work, bag drills, clinch techniques, sparring, and strength conditioning.
A source close to IANS shared: “Babil spent time in Thailand through December and early January to train in Muay Thai in Thailand. He took various classes to learn the form of MMA that originates in Thailand. He’s been prepping for this and it’s for a project that is soon upcoming but requires him to do intense training for a project that goes on floors mid 2026. Given his new found love for the activity, it has naturally led to people connecting the dots. Some believing that this could be prep for an upcoming role”.
He started his journey in films by working as a camera assistant on ‘Qarib Qarib Single’. Babil made his acting debut in 2022 with ‘Qala’, a psychological drama directed by Anvita Dutt, where he starred with Triptii Dimri. In 2023, he acted in ‘Friday Night Plan’ as Juhi Chawla’s son, Siddharth Menon. He was also part of the web series ‘The Railway Men’, which told the story of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, along with Divyendu Sharma, Kay Kay Menon, and R. Madhavan.
Babil, son of the late legendary actor Irrfan Khan, had once shared a video (which was later deleted) where he appeared emotional and teary-eyed, speaking about feeling isolated in the film industry.
