Not only did it turn out to be the biggest hit of 2019 with Rs 292.71 crore but it also broke Aamir Khan's 'Thugs of Hindostan' record of the highest opening film of the year as it raked in Rs 50.61 crore from its first day itself.

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's 'Kabir Singh' might be this year's most controversial film due to its misogynistic lead character but looks like the phrase 'any publicity is good publicity' completely goes with the film. The Hindi remake of hit Telugu film 'Arjun Reddy' which started off with a bang by minting Rs 20.22 crore on the first day, went on to collect a staggering total of Rs 276.34 crore.
