Condition of Kaante's director still critical

MUMBAI: The condition of Sanjay Gupta, director of the latest blockbuster Kaante who was seriously injured in a mishap on the Mumbai-Pune highway on Friday, was still critical, according to hospital sources.

Gupta is on ventilator but conscious, Lilavati Hospital sources said.
He underwent spleenotectomy on Friday night and was given four units of blood. Although the bleeding has stopped, his chest was very badly damaged.

Gupta was injured after his car, that was moving at a speed of 80 to 90 km per hour on the Express Highway, rammed into a pole between Panvel and Lonavla.
When admitted to the hospital, Gupta''s eight ribs were broken, left arm smashed and there was continuous flow of blood from the abdomen, the sources said.
