Even as Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues its strong run at the box office, the film has landed in legal trouble. Bollywood production house Trimurti Films has filed a suit against
Aditya Dhar’s banner B62 Studios over the alleged unauthorised use of the song Rang De Lal (Oye Oye).
Row over ‘Rang De Lal’ usage
As per a report by Bar and Bench, the dispute revolves around the rights to the popular track from the 1989 film Tridev. The song was co-composed by Kalyanji–Anandji along with Viju Shah, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi, and vocals by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.
Trimurti Films has alleged that the song, or a version substantially similar to it, has been used in the film without obtaining the required licences.
Claims of copyright infringement
The report also indicates that Trimurti has asserted ownership and/or control over the rights to the musical work and sound recording. The company has alleged that the usage amounts to copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and public communication of the track.
The suit seeks an injunction to restrain further use of the song, along with damages and other reliefs. It has also raised concerns about the track’s commercial exploitation across theatrical release, streaming platforms, and promotional content.
Film continues strong box office run
