'Dont laugh I'm serious': Shreyas Talpade shares how 'Welcome To The Jungle' director Ahmed Khan agreed to choreograph 'Mardini' song
The upcoming film 'Mardini, tells a powerful story of women's empowerment, motherhood, struggle, and self-confidence, is set to hit the screens on July 3, 2026, and now a special song from the film has caught everyone's attention. This song has received the first Marathi choreography by Bollywood's famous choreographer Ahmed Khan, and Adarsh Shinde has lend his voice to this title song from 'Mardini'.
He further said, “This is not just a song, but a beautiful expression of faith, emotion, and prayer. ‘Mardini’ is a story that gives a sense of the strength of a mother. The plot of the film shows a very effective expression of the power of motherhood and the stubbornness of a woman. Therefore, it was easy to connect emotionally with this song. This is also the first time I have worked for a Marathi film.”
Presented by Shreyas Talpade, ‘Mardini’ is a content-rich film that unfolds the journey of a woman’s existence, her self-esteem, and the strength that emerges from struggle.
"I feel extremely happy, grateful, and honoured that someone like Ahmed Khan choreographed our song. It was incredibly sweet of him. I remember we were shooting for 'Welcome To The Jungle' when he noticed I seemed preoccupied and asked me, 'Kya hua?'
I told him, 'There's a song for a Marathi film I'm producing. It's a promotional number, and I'm trying to figure out how to shoot it.' Without missing a beat, he very graciously said, 'Arre, toh main kar dunga.'
At first, I laughed because I thought he was joking. But he immediately said, 'Don't laugh, I'm serious. I'll do your song.' And he actually did it. That was such a kind gesture because I know how busy and stressed he was with the completion of 'Welcome To The Jungle.'"
He further added, "Despite everything on his plate, he took out the time to listen to the song, conceptualise the entire sequence, and shoot it. For that, I will always be grateful to him. The way the song has eventually shaped up is truly phenomenal.
The speed at which he completed the shoot was remarkable, almost record-breaking for a song of this scale. In a way, it's a tribute to all mothers. I just hope audiences enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed shooting it."
The film also stars Prarthana Behere, Abhijit Khandkekar, Jitendra Joshi, Rajesh Bhosale, and child artist Myra Vaikul in important roles. The film is directed by Ajay Mayekar and produced by Dipti Talpade.

Shreyas is my younger brother, and I have a lot of love and affection for Deepti. The experience of working with all the artists, technicians, and everyone associated with this film was very beautiful. Working with the entire team created a feeling of being part of a family."Presented by Shreyas Talpade, ‘Mardini’ is a content-rich film that unfolds the journey of a woman’s existence, her self-esteem, and the strength that emerges from struggle.
