More about his cheque bounce case

As per the reports, Rajpal Yadav borrowed a loan of Rs 5 crore from Murli Projects Pvt Ltd to back his directorial debut, 'Ata Pata Laapata'. He accrued losses as the film didn't work at the box office.
As a result, he failed to repay the loan on time. The interest piled up, and the cheques that were issued bounced multiple times. In February 2026, the court ordered the actor to surrender himself at the Tihar jail for non-repayment and dishonoring the court's orders several times.The actor received support from several celebs from the industry after news of him surrendering at the jail surfaced on the internet.
