A movie stands out in the race on the grounds of its box office collection. Andhadhun

With 1.1 billion collections at the box office, Andhadhun has jumped in the top 6 highest box office movies of the year. The mystery-thriller is among most favorite audience's movie this year managing to take enumerable awards with its tag. Sriram Raghavan's 'Ándhadhun' stunned film critics and audience alike. Ayushmann and Tabu starrer ‘Ándhadhun' is an engaging thriller that keeps you on your toes and leaves you guessing all the way.

Badhaai Ho

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Badhaai Ho is a surprise hit of 2018. Along with Ayushmann, the film also features Neena Gupta playing the role of his mother, who gets pregnant and the story revolves around the discomfort Indians face for discussing their sex lives. Directed by Amit Sharma, ‘Badhaai Ho’ takes takes away the box office at 221.48 crore. Additionally, it also became Ayushmann's first film to reach the Rs 100-crore mark.

Raazi

2018 also saw some great women-led movies. Raazi, reportedly became the first female-led movie in the past five years to enter the 100 Crore Club. The story of the film is inspired by the novel ‘Calling Sehmat’ by ex-naval officer, Harinder Sikka. The film further revolves around the life of an Indian Spy Sehmat, an undercover RAW agent, which is wonderfully played by Alia Bhatt alongside Vicky Kaushal playing the role of his husband in the film. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film gained a huge critical acclaim earning a total box office collection of Rs. 194.06 crore.

Sanju

Sanju, biopic of Sanjay Dutt is a biggest hit of 2018. The film getting mixed reviews of whitewashing the image of Sanjay Dutt and manipulating its viewers, in the end doesn’t affect the box office as the film went on to collect Rs. 586 crore hitting at the box office. Directed By Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Sanju’ stars Ranbir Kapoor tremdously playing the role of all time actor Sanjay Dutt.

Padmaavat

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director known for his grand vision in Bollywood industry, faced the biggest opposition that any movie has seen in the country. After huge controversies, attacks and threats, and adding many delay in the date of the release, the movie finally hit the theatres on Jan 25. Starring superstars such as Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, ‘Padmaati’ which was further named as ‘Padmaavat’ merited to Rs. 585 Crore and became the first blockbuster of the year.

The Sci-Fi Action film ‘2.0’ marks Akshay Kumar’s debut in the Tamil industry, alongside Rajnikanth aka Chitti and Amy Jackson. Directed by S Shankar, 2.0 is a standalone sequel to ‘Enthiran’. The film is considered to be the India’s most expensive film to date with a gigantic budget of over 540 crores. 2.0 showcases the upgraded version of Chitti - the robot, played by Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar is a Pakshi Raja alias Crow Man. The film earns a total box office collection of Rs. 750 crores globally, while its Hindi version contributing Rs. 185 crores to it.
