The 'Golmaal' franchise is heating up again as filmmaker
Rohit Shetty confirms that he has approached
Kareena Kapoor Khan and
Sara Ali Khan for 'Golmaal 5'.
Rohit Shetty's 'LIKE' leads to confirmation
Rohit ‘liked’ an Instagram post by Bollygupsip detailing the potential casting, which fans took as a soft confirmation of the rumoured lineup. The post claimed that Kareena and Sara are in early discussions to join the ensemble.
The post mentioned that Rohit “genuinely enjoys collaborating with Sara and is keen to bring her back to the franchise alongside Kareena.”
Kunal Kemmu comes on board as creative consultant
The Instagram post highlighted, “Rohit has reportedly been actively developing the script… while Kunal Khemu is believed to be contributing as a creative advisor.”
Interestingly, Rohit Shetty has reportedly brought in 'Golmaal Again' actor Kunal Kemmu as a creative consultant. According to the reports, Rohit has been developing the script with a team of young writers to bring a “fresh energy” to the long-running franchise. Kunal’s involvement adds a unique touch to it for sure.
Filming expected in 2026
Kareena Kapoor previously led 'Golmaal Returns' (2008) and 'Golmaal 3' (2010) opposite Ajay Devgn. Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan, who earlier worked with Rohit in Simmba, is taking her baby steps into 'Golmaal' universe.
If all goes as planned, 'Golmaal 5' is expected to go on floors in 2026, with the final cast to be locked by the end of the year.
On the other hand, Rohit Shetty's previous film was the actioner 'Singham Again' which turned out to be a blockbuster. Clashing with 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', 'Singham Again' raked in big numbers at the box office, despite mixed reactions from the audiences.
