Happy Birthday Aparshakti Khurana: Movies where the actor tickled our funny bone

Aparshakti Khurana, more popularly known as Ayushmann Khurrana's younger brother has recently started coming out on his own with some meaty roles in movies. Starting his career as a RJ, the Chandigarh boy has also dabbled in hosting and singing till he found his true calling in acting. As the actor turns 35 today, here's a look at some movies he shined through in, no matter the length of the role.

2/5

Dangal (2016)

Aparshakti made his debut with Nitesh Tiwari's biographical sports drama Dangal with Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. He played Mahavir Singh Phogat's nephew, the geeky, nerdy Omkar in the movie, who unlike his sisters Geeta and Babita is timid and prefers to stay away from wrestling. His comic timing in the movie was fantastic, as he continues to support his sisters come what may, even (literally) becoming their punching bag for wrestling practice.

3/5

Stree (2018)

Directed by debutante Amar Kaushik, Stree was one of the first movies in the horror-comedy genre and starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor as the main leads. Aparshakti Khurana played Bittu, the protagonist Vicky's best friend, who always thought that Shraddha's character was the spirit "Stree" that is terrorising the entire village of Chanderi. The movie, that was based on the urban legend Nale Ba (meaning come tomorrow) turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

4/5

Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019)

Playing Chintu Tyagi's (Kartik Aaryan) best friend in the movie, Aparshakti Khurana's character was called Fahim Rizvi. Providing the best lines of the comedy caper, the character was appreciated for not being stereotypical and run-of-the-mill. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the commercially successful flick co-starring Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles, was a remake of the 1978 eponymous title.

5/5

Helmet (2021)

Helmet, Aparshakti Khurana's first movie as lead saw him playing Lucky, a rookie thief, who along with his friends, unwittingly rob an e-commerce truck thinking it has valuable items, only to find a shipment of condoms inside. What follows next is a hilarious business plan, mistaken identities and a whole lot of conundrum in this Satram Ramani directed film. The movie, appreciated for its theme was released on ZEE5 and co-starred Pranutan Bahl and Abhishek Banerjee.
