‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Sultan’: Five noteworthy performances by Salman Khan

Salman Khan fans love dancing in the aisles and throwing money on the screen every time their most wanted Bhai bashes baddies and saves the world and while the actor keeps catering to them in many of his films, he has also proved his versatility with some performance-oriented films like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Sultan’. Here’s taking a look at some of his noteworthy performances over the years:

2/6

‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’

After delivering a musical hit ‘Khamoshi’ together, Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali collaborated once again for ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Sameer’s mischievous and fun character in the film won the hearts of his fans and his on-screen chemistry with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the cherry on top. Needless to say, this is still one of the most loved films of Salman Khan.

3/6

‘Tere Naam’

‘Radhe’ might be a film now, but the name comes from Salman Khan’s character in ‘Tere Naam’, who was an obsessive lover and suffers psycho-trauma after a head injury. The performance that the actor delivered in the film received appreciation from both the audience and the critics. The film also marked Bhoomika Chawla's debut in Bollywood.

4/6

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’

Salman Khan transformed himself into Bajrangi Bhaijaan in this Kabir Khan directorial. The actor essayed the role of a simpleton, upright, God-fearing Pavan Chaturvedi, with such conviction, that the audience was moved to tears. His camaraderie with co-stars Harshaali Malhotra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Kareena Kapoor was the highlight of the emotional drama.

5/6

‘Sultan’

Salman Khan took up the role of a former wrestling champion trying to revive his career in ‘Sultan’. It is not often that we see the ‘Dabangg’ star out of shape and that is what made his performance stand out. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial also starred Anushka Sharma in the lead role.

6/6

‘Ek Tha Tiger’

While fans love Salman Khan surprising them now and then with some content-rich, performance-oriented films, nothing beats his whistle-worthy commercial entertainers. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ franchise combines the best of both worlds as it has the actor playing the role of a secret spy who is out to save his country. His sizzling chemistry with Katrina Kaif in the film has also received much love from the audience.
