I hid myself nicely: Divya Dutta on her Goa train journey
After a busy stretch of work and travel, Divya Dutta recently took a short break in Goa with her family. .
“I had been travelling quite a bit lately, so we decided to take a two-day break and head to Goa. The kids had holidays, and we just wanted some family time," Divya says.
This time, however, the actress skipped flying and opted for a train journey instead. “The kids wanted to experience the Vistadome coaches on the Mumbai-Goa Tejas Express, so we booked that. It turned out to be a wonderful trip," she shares.
Divya admits she enjoyed the anonymity the train journey offered. “I hid myself nicely and enjoyed the experience,” she laughs.
During the holiday, the family packed in everything from parasailing and beach outings to shopping and visits to sea-facing restaurants. But shopping, Divya says, required a little strategy.
“I think it’s fun to cover yourself up and go shopping quietly because the moment I speak, I get recognised. My sister-in-law was with me, so I would make her do all the bargaining,” she shares.
Back at work, Divya is receiving a good response for her series Chiraiya. She says,
“I knew the show would do well, but the response is far more than we imagined. People are discussing it, sharing their own stories and constantly messaging us. Wherever I go, people shout Chiraiya, Chiraiya." Alongside acting, Divya is also continuing her writing journey. Having authored the books The Stars in My Sky: Those Who Brightened My Film Journey and Me and Ma, she is currently working on her third book.
“A lot of friends have suggested I write scripts as well. But right now, I’m focused on finishing my third book, and it has nothing to do with movies," she signs off.
