'Ikkis' OTT release: When and where to watch Dharmendra's last film AFTER theatre
Agastya Nanda marked his Bollywood debut with ‘Ikkis,’ Sriram Raghavan's war drama, released in theaters on January 1, 2026. The film attracted notice not just for Amitabh Bachchan's grandson but also for its deep emotions. It features Dharmendra's last movie, creating a heartfelt moment for fans and the industry. Netizens went to theaters to see his final role, making it a special memory, not just a regular film.
Before Ikkis' release, OTTplay reports and the film's opening card detailed its streaming strategy. The movie teams up with Amazon Prime Video for its OTT debut. Post-theatrical run, it will reportedly launch on the Prime Video Store for rent starting March 12, 2026. From March 26, 2026, it becomes free for all Prime Video subscribers, following the standard eight-week theater window.
The film, ‘Ikkis,’ was first set for a late December 2025 cinema release. The team opted to move it to New Year's Day amid a packed box office. Hits like ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ ruled screens then. Producer Dinesh Vijan called the delay a smart move, allowing for extra room to connect with viewers, free from the shadow of bigger blockbusters.
‘Ikkis’ centers on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra winner. It follows his path from training to heroic acts in the 1971 Indo-Pak War's Battle of Basantar. Arun's bravery, command, and sacrifice drive the story's heart. Agastya Nanda portrays Arun Khetarpal, training rigorously in fitness and military drills for the young tank leader role, his debut draws keen eyes. Dharmendra adds layers as Brigadier M.L. Khetarpal, Arun's dad. Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikander Kher, and Simar Bhatia fill vital wartime parts. Post-preview, Amitabh Bachchan lauded its sharp tech and raw, true-to-life tale.
