For
Maanvi Gagroo, who has seamlessly moved between theatre, films and OTT, choosing a favourite medium isn't easy. Yet, the actress says OTT remains closest to her heart for the opportunities and recognition it brought her.
“I think my loyalties lie a little bit with OTT because OTT has given me so much. It gave me a space to find myself, and a space where my audiences found me,” Maanvi told Mumbai Mirror on the sidelines of the Kashish Pride Film Festival 2026, in South Mumbai recently.
Despite her strong emotional connection with OTT, the actress admits that cinema still carries a magic that cannot be replaced. She is now gearing up for her first theatrical release in nearly six years.
“My last film was in 2020, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. And then the lockdown happened. So even that film didn’t get a full run,” she says.
The upcoming release marks an important moment for the actress, who is excited to once again watch herself on the big screen with a live audience. “I’m excited to see myself back on screen with Heer Sara,” she shares.
Talking about her journey, Maanvi reveals that films were always her original dream. “Cinema ka magic koi bhi nahi le sakta,” she says. “Because that’s what I came here for. I came to Mumbai from Delhi for films. It’s been an excellent journey so far,” she adds.
