Bollywood had an emotionally charged week. We lost legendary actor, much loved comedian Jagdeep. On the other hand, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recorded his statement with Mumbai Police, while Kangana Ranaut and Pooja Bhatt engaged in a war of words on social media. This week Sanjay Leela Bhansali recorded his statement at the Bandra police station in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case. Earlier it was reportedly that the director producer had approached Sushant for several films. Abhishek Trimukhe, DCP (Zone IX), Mumbai Police, confirmed to ANI in a statement, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning to take Sushant in four of his films. But due to unavailabilty of dates, the films had other actors.” Sharing details about SLB’s statement, a source had informed Mumbai Mirror, “The statement of Bhansali centered around his (Bhansali's) conversation with Rajput after the film/s fell through because of the earlier contractual conditions."

Bollywood mourned the loss of yet another gem of an actor. Veteran Bollywood actor Jagdeep passed away on July 8. Producer Mehmood Ali, a family friend, had told PTI, "He passed away at 8.30 p.m. at his residence in Bandra. He was not keeping well because of age related issues.” The 81 year old actor was popularly known for his act of Soorma Bhopali in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer, iconic film ‘Sholay’.

After months of speculation, seems like Shah Rukh Khan has finally decided his next movie. The actor has reportedly signed up with Rajkumar Hirani for a social comedy about immigration. Sharing details, a source had informed Mumbai Mirror, “Like all Raju films, it revolves around a serious, globally relevant issue and is treated with gentle humour. The story moves between Punjab and Canada.” About SRK’s character, the source added, “This guy is jovial, he’ll make you laugh and get emotional. Shah Rukh is growing his hair for the part.” This film is scheduled to go on floors before the year ends.

While Kangana Ranaut is not active on social media, her team continues to post on Twitter and recently engaged in a war of words with Pooja Bhatt. It began when Pooja Bhatt shared a post about how Kangana was launched by Vishesh film. Responding to it, Kangana’s team had posted, “Anurag Basu had keen eyes to spot Kangana’s talent, everyone knows Mukesh Bhatt does not like to pay artists, to get talented people for free is a favour many studios do on themselves but that doesn’t give your father a license to throw chappals at her.” The controversy continued as Pooja shared a video where Kangana was seen thanking Mukesh Bhatt. Reacting to the same, Kangana’s team shared, “Pooja ji Kangana is thankful to Vishesh films fr launching her but she wants outsiders to be treated better,She is thankful that her ex broke up with her but she wishes it ws done respectfully,She feels fortunate to fnd success in world run by men but she wishes patriarchy ends .”

Neetu Kapoor turned a year older this week and marked the occasion with an intimate dinner with Ranbir and Riddhima Kapoor as well as granddaughter Samara. Filmmaker Karan Johar, sister-in-law Reema Jain and Agastya Nanda were also a part of the do. Sharing photos from her birthday celebration, Neetu Kapoor had captioned the clicks, “The richest are the ones with good relationships!!! We all need love ,support strength from our loved ones always....I feel the richest today.”
