Katrina Kaif looked her happiest as she took the plunge with Vicky Kaushal in an intimate ceremony on Thursday, December 9. For her wedding day, Kat opted for a classic red bridal lehenga in handwoven matka silk with fine tilla work and embroidered revival zardozi borders in velvet. In homage to her husband's Punjabi roots, Katrina's veil featured a custom trim with handmade kiran.

The actress wore a red tulle embroidered buti sari paired with an embroidered veil, that was inscribed with a Bengali verse for the couple to mark their special day.

For her wedding function that honoured her Indian roots, the bride chose a stunning red lehenga. It reportedly took 110 embroiderers from Kolkata a total of 3,720 hours to custom create the piece, which came with a half-sleeved blouse and a ballgown-esque skirt. The lehenga was topped off with delicate hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss and layers of thread work.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot in Lake Como, Italy. The couple had two weddings, which included a Konkani and a Sindhi ceremony, to honour both their roots and family traditions. For her Sindhi wedding, Deepika chose a unique red lehenga full of hidden details. Created specifically for the bride, the outfit was equal parts traditional as it was fashion-forward. The bridal red gharara was hand-embroidered with golden tilla details and was paired with a chowki design aari-taari dupatta, complete with a heavy border with the age-old saying ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava’ written on it in Devnagri. ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava’ is considered a blessing to newlyweds, which translates to ‘may you forever be married.’

Four years after Anushka Sharma tied the knot the Virat Kohli, her wedding outfit continues to be a favourite among brides. For her special day, Anushka ditched the usual red lehenga for a gorgeous powder pink outfit, which featured motifs of lotus flowers, exotic birds and butterflies in gold and silver tilla work. The lehenga was also encrusted with pink rhinestones and embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls, and beads called Renaissance embroidery. The dazzling piece came with a price tag of an astounding Rs 30 lakhs.
