Mika Singh backs Ranveer Singh in 'Don 3' row; says he will personally talk to FWICE: 'After all, we are the Bhais'
Mika Singh has publicly thrown his weight behind Ranveer Singh as the 'Don 3' controversy continues to escalate. The singer has now come forward, promising to personally intervene with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor on May 25. The singer and composer, who has faced a temporary FWICE ban himself in the past, said he knows the body well and intends to broker a resolution.
Reports of creative differences between the actor and the production house, Excel Entertainment followed. According to various accounts, Ranveer was reportedly frustrated by repeated delays and the absence of a finalised script and was said to favour a darker, grittier take on Don, at odds with producer Farhan Akhtar's preference for staying closer to the earlier films' tone. Matters reportedly worsened when Ranveer learnt the makers were exploring other casting options while he remained attached to the project.
FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit stated that Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani had personally approached the federation. He noted that significant expenditure had already been incurred, including overseas recce trips, hotel bookings, and arrangements for over 200 crew members. Pandit also confirmed that Ranveer had signed a three-film agreement with Excel Entertainment and had participated in script discussions and the announcement shoot.
On May 25, FWICE issued a formal non-cooperation directive, alleging that Ranveer had not responded to repeated summons. Pandit warned that affiliated workers across India would not work with him on films, advertisements, or any other projects until he personally addressed the matter before the body.
