'Mardaani' series: The fearless crime fighter

Rani’s iconic portrayal of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a daring crime branch officer, began with ‘Mardaani’ in 2014, directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Yash Raj Films. The character returned in ‘Mardaani 2’, and the saga continues with ‘Mardaani 3’, which released on 30th January. Each film in the series highlights Shivani’s intelligence, bravery, and determination to bring criminals to justice, solidifying Rani’s image as one of Bollywood’s most formidable women on screen.

'No one Killed Jessica'

Rani Kapoor depicts an investigative journalist looking to find the truth in 'No One Killed Jessica.’ She goes after various people involved in a murder case without giving up and ultimately wins the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress as a result of her excellent performance as a tenacious reporter.

'Veer-Zaara'

In the sweeping romantic drama 'Veer-Zaara,' she plays a Pakistani lawyer striving for justice, including her amazing portrayal of an attorney committed to both her morals and convictions, establishing her capability to do powerful, uplifting characters rather than simply beautiful characters.

'Laaga Chunnari Mein Daag'

Rani’s performance as Vibhavari, also called Badki, in ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’ was another example of her fearless choices. She played a woman forced by circumstances into becoming a call girl named Natasha to protect her family. Bold yet nuanced, Rani balanced the character’s harsh realities without ever resorting to exaggeration or vulgarity.

'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway'

In ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway’, Rani once again showcased her strength as a mother fighting against an unjust system. Her portrayal of a protective, resolute woman who challenges bureaucracy underlines her versatility and her ability to carry socially relevant, powerful narratives on screen. This movie also got Rani Mukerji her National Award.
