After Nushrratt Bharuccha visited Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain, people raised questions about her faith. She sought blessings ahead of the New Year 2026. Netizens questioned her decision to visit the temple, while one Muslim leader criticized her actions.

According to the ANI video, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, the National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, said that performing puja is a "grave sin" in Sharia Law. He went on to add that these actions are against Islam. He further stated that the 'Dream Girl' actress must offer repentance and recite the Kalma.

Nushrratt Bharuccha's religious views

In an earlier interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Nushrratt Bharuccha had opened up about her liberal views on religion. She had said, "For me, my faith is real. Unreal things happen, and that's what strengthens my belief. That's why I'm still connected, still strong, and I know I have to follow this path."




The actress added, "Wherever you find peace, whether it's in a mandir, a gurudwara, or a church, you should go there. I even say this openly: I pray namaz."

Elaborating further, she said, "If I get time, I pray five times a day. I even carry my prayer mat while travelling. Wherever I go, I find the same peace and calm. I've always believed there's one God and different paths to connect with Him. And I want to explore all those paths."

On the work front, the actress will next feature in the film titled 'Bun Tikki', which is scheduled to release in theaters this year.
