Old video of 'Animal' star Ranbir Kapoor saying he wants to avoid misogynistic films because of his 'value system' goes viral

Ranbir Kapoor is currently enjoying the tremendous success of his recent film, "Animal." Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie has garnered positive reviews on one hand, but on the flip side, it has also faced criticism for being labeled as misogynistic.

Amidst this, an old video of Ranbir from an interview with Film Companion is going viral on social media. In the video, Ranbir is seen talking about wanting to avoid misogynistic films because of his value system. The interview seems to be before the release of Luv Ranjan's 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' as the reporter is seen asking Ranbir if he worries or thinks about the images and art that he is putting out as an actor.



Replying to the same, the Kapoor scion said that he has not been a part of those kinds of films. According to Ranbir, he is quite conscious of the kind of roles he does. If something belittles the society, he wouldn't do it. The actor also went on to say that understanding the position that he is in, he has to be consciously aware. He has to represent a certain value system.




People are expressing shock and dismay at the ill-treatment of women portrayed in the film. Many believe that 'Animal' serves as an unapologetic celebration of toxic masculinity, which forms the basis of patriarchy.



However, the film is still doing a record-breaking business at the box office. It also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Charu Shankar and others.
